Coconut
Paradise is a quaint little Thai restaurant, with
a door that is barely visible from Fumin Road - it's
easy to pass by Coconut Paradise and not notice it. But
upon closer inspection, there are some nice little
nooks with Buddhas, lit outside in the evening. And
inside, the garden is small, but still serene, with
a lovely little modern Thai style fountain. The restaurant
is housed in a quaint former French Concession area
villa. Cozy, not too big. The wooden decor and minimal
lighting inside add to the South East Asian impression.
The food is pretty good. The only problem is that
sometimes there can be loud groups of people who
have had a bit to drink who can ruin the ambiance
for other diners. However, the lovely atmosphere
combined with quite good food was what convinced
us to include Coconut Paradise as one of the best
restaurants in Shanghai.
